Master of Business Administration (MBA) Curriculum

The MBA Program

The MBA program is designed to provide promising students and professionals with the knowledge and skills they need to successfully manage companies and institutions. It addresses the differing needs of managers with varied backgrounds and experiences. It provides a stimulating ground for intensive learning in the areas of international business, marketing and human resource management.

Objectives:

The Master of Business Administration degree program aims primarily at producing competent business administrators, managers and leaders of corporate and non-corporate organizations (private or public), as well as new business enterprises. The program aims at the following objectives:

  1. To provide students//professionals with a unique opportunity to master the dynamics of global business and to learn about business practices in foreign business environments;
  2. To prepare the students/professionals for positions in middle and higher management both in the private and public sectors; and
  3. To equip the students/professionals with expertise in the planning and development of new business enterprises.

Admission Requirements:

  1. Any accredited bachelor's degree from recognized institutions of higher learning.
  2. An undergraduate weighted average grade of at least 2.0 or better or some evidence of potential to do MBA work, on the basis of the following:

a)       Official transcript of records

b)       A completed application for admission

c)       Two letters of recommendation preferably one from a former professor and another from a present employer, if working, or from former professors if fresh graduate.

d)       Satisfactory score in the English Proficiency Test

  1. Passing in non-credit refresher/foundation courses for those applicants who may be found deficient in the appropriate basic tool courses where such are required prior to enrolling in certain core courses.

Graduation Requirements:

  1. The students must have earned a minimum weighted average grade of 2.0 in all core courses and 1.75 in all specialized courses.
  2. Must have successfully presented a Business Case Study (for those under the non-thesis option).
  3. Must have passed the comprehensive exams with a grade of 1.75 or better in the field of specialization, and with a grade of 2.0 or better in other areas for those under the non-thesis program.
  4. Must have successfully defended the thesis research work for those under the thesis program.
