Dr. Khaled Almaeena has held a broad range of positions in Saudi media for over thirty years, including CEO of a PR firm, Saudi Television news anchor, talk show host, radio announcer, lecturer an journalist.

As the Editor-in-Chief of Arab News, the largest English-language newspaper in the Middle East,  Almaeena steered the paper through the Gulf Crisis and pioneered bringing newspapers back to a liberated Kuwait. Under his direction, the paper was first in 2003 to send a Saudi reporter to Iraq to report extensively from the front lines.

As a journalist, Almaeena has represented Saudi media at Arab summits in Baghdad, Morocco and elsewhere. In 1990, he was one of four journalists to cover the historic resumption of diplomatic ties between Saudi Arabia and Russia. He also traveled to China as part of this diplomatic mission.

Highly regarded for his views, Almaeena's political and social columns appear regularly in Gulf News-Dubai, Asharq Al-Aswat, Al-Eqtisadiah, Arab News, Times of Oman, Asian Age and The China Post. His interest in sports attracted him to the successful promotion of squash and tennis tournaments in the Kingdom.

Frequent travel to the United States, Europe, Asia and the Gulf States has provided Almaeena with a global outlook. He has shared his understanding of Western and Saudi media as a guest lecturer at renowned universities, colleges and institutes. He has provided the Saudi perspective on a range of regional and geopolitical topics in interviews with TV organizations, including CNN, CBS and STAR TV.

Almaeena began his career in 1972 when he joined Saudi Arabia Airlines (Saudia) as a public relations advisor before becoming Editor-in-Chief of Saudia World.

In 1982, Almaeena became the Editor-in-Chief of Arab News. He stepped down in 1993 to head the Saudi Public Relations Company (SPRC), a position he held for eight years. He returned to the top editor's post at Arab News in 1998.

Dr. Almaeena was educated in several countries, including the United States, Britain and Pakistan. He is fluent in English, Arabic and Urdu.
