Admission Requirements


The Master of Arts in Islamic Studies (Major in Aqeedah, Personality Development and Dawah) Curriculum aims to attain the following desirable goals:

1. To train Islamic workers who will actively present Islam to others with wisdom and beautiful preaching according to the Qur’an and Sunnah;

2. To develop excellent academic researchers and writers on Islam according to its authentic sources in order to produce quality scholarly books and textbooks on Islamic Studies subjects for Muslim learners from pre-elementary to postgraduate levels of the educational system and thus, present the true Message of Islam to all mankind;

 3. To help mold dedicated, honest, sincere and dynamic Muslim leaders who will be prepared to lead their respective communities/societies for a peaceful and prosperous well-balanced life and development; and

 4. To produce outstanding Muslims who will attain success, especially supreme success in the eternal Life Hereafter.

Plan A
Student who finished BA in Islamic Studies in WISHES will only take 
18 units (plus 6 units thesis/book writing) or  24 units (without thesis/book writing but with comprehensive examinations).  Student who finished BA in Islamic Studies from other institution will have to take 30 units (plus 6 units thesis/book writing) or 36 units (without thesis/book writing but with comprehensive examinations) of the following subjects:

*This subject requires students who are not BA in Islamic Studies graduates to take IS 100: Introduction to Islamic Studies

**Students who have taken similar subjects are required to take  IS 127 Understanding Prophet Muhammad (s.a.w.s.) (His Character, Teachings and Contributions to Humanity): Implications to Peace and Success instead of IS 206.
