WISDOM
--
a word
synonymous to knowledge and the translation of the
Arabic word "hikmah" referring to the Prophet's Sunnah
in the Glorious Qur'an
--
is an acronym for
World
Islamic
Service
for
Developing
Outstanding
Muslims
(WISDOM). This is the theme of
Wisdom Enrichment International Learning Program
(WEILP)
a
project initially started in 2003 as a non-degree Islamic Studies online
program of the Wisdom Enrichment Foundation (WEFOUND).
Alhamdullillah, after two years of operation,
WEILP has officially become the
Wisdom International School for Higher
Education Studies (WISHES)
offering BA, MA and PhD in
Islamic Studies
specializing in Aqeedah (Firm Belief), Islamic Personality
Development and Da’wah according to the Qur’an and the Sunnah. Students
who will graduate in this educational institution are expected to have
the right aqeedah (belief) and/or eeman (faith), develop
the characteristics expected of Muslims according to the Qur'an and the
Sunnah, and do righteous deeds for the sole pleasure of Allah the Most
High. In this way, they will be able to do da'wah (inviting
people to Islam), enjoin the right and forbid the wrong so that in the
sight of Allah the Most Merciful they become outstanding Muslims. They
will be among those successful Muslims who will attain Allah's Mercy --
worthy of His everlasting rewards. Allah the Only True God and
Sustainer says:
“You (practicing
Muslims) are the best of peoples, evolved for mankind. You enjoin what is
right, forbid what is wrong, and believe in Allah...”
(Qur'an 3:110)
“Allah has promised
the believers, men and women, gardens under which rivers flow to dwell
therein and beautiful mansions in gardens of everlasting bliss. But the
greatest bliss is the Good Pleasure of Allah: that is the supreme success.”
(Qur'an 9:72)
“And he who brings the
Truth and he who confirms (and supports) it—such are the men who do right.
They shall have all that they wish for, with their Rabb (Cherisher and
Sustainer). Such is the reward of those who do good: so that Allah will
remit from them (even) the worst in their deeds and give them their reward
according to the best of what they have done.”
(Qur'an 39:33-35)
The
Wisdom International School for Higher Education Studies (WISHES) is an
accredited online educational institution of higher studies that is authorized to accept qualified
students worldwide. WISHES
is
officially registered in the Philippine Securities and Exchange Commission
(SEC) Extension Office in Cagayan de Oro City, Philippines under
Registration No. 200526387, dated 10 March 2005.
It is officially accredited as a private institution of
higher learning by the Commission on Higher Education (CHED), Autonomous
Region in Muslim Mindanao (ARMM) on April 5, 2005.
The Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao is duly recognized by the
Philippine Government by virtue of the Organic Act which was created on
August 1, 1989 through Republic Act No. 6734.

WISHES is the first international online educational
institution authorized by the Commission on Higher Education (CHED),
Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (ARMM), Philippines.
It is a
non-stock, non-profit educational project of the Wisdom Enrichment
Foundation (WEFOUND) and the
Philippine
Muslim Teachers College (PMTC).
Its
income will be used to: 1) enhance the quality and standard of this
online institution of higher studies in terms of research, faculty
development and training, and publication as well as reproduction of its
instructional materials into books; 2) build Islamic library and/or
enhance or support existing Islamic libraries in the Philippines and
elsewhere; 3) conduct or co-sponsor international seminars on Islam and
other topics related to the promotion of justice, peace and development;
4) foster cooperation with other Islamic and educational institutions
worldwide toward the realization of its mission and
goals; and 5) implement the educational, da'wah and civic projects of
WEFOUND -- all for the sole
pleasure of Allah the Almighty.
WISHES is a member of
Worldwide Classroom (WWC),
a Consortium for International Education & Multicultural Studies, which
encourages its members strive to improve academic standards and/or
multicultural experiences and outcomes for students. WWC, established in

The
WISHES Islamic Studies
curriculum
is based on the authentic knowledge of Islam (i.e., the Qur'an
and the Sunnah). It aims to produce sincere, God-fearing and
peaceful-loving Muslims who are assets not only to their respective
societies and countries but also to the international community by virtue
of their adherence to the real teachings of Islam.
WISHES curriculum is
designed in response to the challenges and prospects
underlying religious
curricular offerings in the Muslim world.

Dr. Norlain
bint Muhammad Dindang (Mababaya), an author and lecturer on Islam, made the
WISHES Islamic Studies Curriculum professionally, diligently and
comprehensively, in consultation with a number of Islamic scholars,
professors, and curriculum development experts from Imam Mohammad bin Saud
Islamic University and King Saud University, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
The Islamic Studies learning materials, which Dr.
Dindang has organized and compiled, are available on electronic book format
for immediate download. These include the books published by reputable
international Islamic publishers in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, namely: the
Darussalam Publishers and the International Islamic Publishing House (IIPH).
Both publishing organizations have given the Wisdom Enrichment Foundation (WEFOUND)
the permission to include some of their very valuable and enlightening books
on Islam in the WEFOUND
learning modules. All the
Islamic e-books are free to all WISHES and WEILP students. Some of
them can be downloaded also for
FREE in the WEFOUND
website.
WEFOUND is very
grateful to the owners of the said Islamic publishers for their kind
permission, to all its
International Board of Advisers for their moral
and spiritual supports, and to all Muslims as well as non-Muslims from
various countries for their very encouraging and impressive remarks about
the WEFOUND Islamic learning modules. (Read some impressive

With this
online educational institution, students (whether full time or part time) can
study any time at their own pace. They can learn the best knowledge
(i.e., knowledge of the Qur'an and the Sunnah) without leaving their jobs
or even sacrificing their religious duties (e.g., praying
tahajjud (midnight prayer), do da'wah or give lectures on Islam) because
they can study, take the examinations online, submit their papers by
e-mail at their own convenient time. Course works/subjects are given one at a
time (in modular form) so that students can concentrate on each subject
before studying the rest of the subjects. This is to ensure quality
learning as WISHES aims to produce outstanding students who will, insha
Allah, serve Allah the Almighty to the best in order to earn His Mercy
and attain peace and ultimate success, especially in the eternal life
hereafter.
